- How much time is involved? Being on Twitter is in vogue, but it takes a lot of time to be effective. Make sure you plan for it.
- How much money is involved? Nothing, not even social media, is free. Make sure you are budgeting labor when developing your marketing plan.
- What expertise is involved? In the “old days”, you may have only needed a copywriter and a printer. However, to execute most marketing plans today, you probably are going to need someone to fill the role of a techie, a designer, and data analyst. Not to mention the copywriter!
- Are the tools involved ascertainable? If part of your marketing plan requires producing a nationally syndicated commercial, but your budget is $5,000 a month, you might need to rethink your plan. Sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how often this comes up.
- What’s next? Your ad is successful and your buyers see it. What do you want them to do? How are they to engage you?
Do you guys have anything else to add?
