5 Show Stoppers to Keep in Mind When Building a Marketing Plan

by Greg Digneo

  1. How much time is involved?  Being on Twitter is in vogue, but it takes a lot of time to be effective.  Make sure you plan for it.
  2. How much money is involved?  Nothing, not even social media, is free.  Make sure you are budgeting labor when developing your marketing plan.
  3. What expertise is involved?  In the “old days”, you may have only needed a copywriter and a printer.  However, to execute most marketing plans today, you probably are going to need someone to fill the role of a techie, a designer, and data analyst.  Not to mention the copywriter!
  4. Are the tools involved ascertainable?  If part of your marketing plan requires producing a nationally syndicated commercial, but your budget is $5,000 a month, you might need to rethink your plan.  Sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how often this comes up.
  5. What’s next?  Your ad is successful and your buyers see it.  What do you want them to do?  How are they to engage you?
