Yesterday, I launched a Fanpage on Facebook to talk about marketing and share tips, tricks, advice, etc on how to grow business. You can connect here. We’d be happy to have you join. To promote it, I tried a few things to see what would work, and what wouldn’t. I didn’t stick with anything for too long.
However, one thing became extremely clear. Building your business on Facebook is much different than building your business on Google.
When you are building your business with Facebook, it’s like you are inviting prospective customers to a networking event that you sponsor. You get to say a few things in the beginning that you hope will trigger conversation amongst the attendees, but then you want to let them mingle and share their own ideas.
When you are building your business with Google, you are building an audience to sell them something. It could be that you are selling them a free webinar in return for their time, or you could be selling them a red cashmere sweater.
Once you understand the differences, you will be able to conduct a strategy to maximize the benefits of each platform.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
