I came across a blog on Entrepreneur.com posted by Tim Berry that validates my sanity, or lack thereof. It feels good to know that I am not alone! He also has several great suggestions about starting a business.
Today, I spent most of my day making connections in various social media. As Seth Godin says, making connections is like a dripping faucet. You make them one at a time, until your drip becomes a pour. Well, my drip is still a drip! It is important to note that when you are just starting on your venture, you are going to face a lot more “No’s” then “Yes”. A lot more people will ignore you, than will listen. My best advice to you is to take this time and be a valuable resource to those that will listen to you – and even those that may not.
Drip, drip, drip – you will eventually gain the momentum you need. Just keep learning, keep sharing your knowledge, and keep experimenting. Those that persevere will succeed.
